Quite a lot of the Manchester United fans have been scrolling their Twitter timelines and refreshing it continuously to hear something from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano about the most talked-about transfer as yet of this summer. Jadon Sancho has been Manchester United’s major target for a while and it was reported yesterday by major media houses like Bild and Romano himself that a deal was agreed with the player.

However, towards the end of the day, British media heavyweights like Simon Peach, Simon Stone and some others reported that United could walk away from the deal if Dortmund don’t lower their demands. This update coming from multiple British media sources became a huge talking point overnight but while talking on “The Beautiful Game” podcast, Romano rubbished the negative reports.

“The situation is not as complicated as people are making it sound. It is actually a normal situation when you’re talking about a top deal like this. As I mentioned in my tweets, Sancho has a total agreement on personal terms with Manchester United. What we know is that the contract of the player is not a problem and Jadon (Sancho) wants to join United,” Romano said.

There is no deadline with respect to the deal: Romano

Contrary to most reports in English media, Fabrizio Romano denied that there is any deadline set by Dortmund to force United into accepting their deal. It was reported that United were given a deadline of August 10th by Dortmund to get the deal done, which will not hamper any of the pre-season practice for the Yellow army. However, Romano only stressed on a fact that a deal between two top clubs needs time to materialize and there was no deadline set by any club.

“Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are talking about the structure of the deal – about the installments, the add-ons and we also have to talk about the economical side of the deal impacted by the pandemic. It is normal that a deal between two top clubs needs time to prepare. Today, United are still in touch with Dortmund to get the signing done, I cannot promise what happens tomorrow, but all I can say is Sancho is their primary target. I want to add that there is no deadline, I never spoke of any,” the Italian journalist added.

Transfer window will close on October 5th, almost 21 days after the opening game day of the 2020/21 Premier League season.
