Last season was fun to watch where Liverpool showcased their outstanding talent by winning the Premier League and we are expecting that they will continue with the same form this year too. Liverpool are in talks to sign Thiago from Bayern Munich. If this happens then it will add an additional boost to their midfield.

Let’s go through the starting fixtures of 2020-21 season:-

Match week 1:

  • Fulham vs. Arsenal
  • Crystal Palace vs. Southampton
  • Liverpool vs. Leeds United
  • West Ham United vs. Newcastle United
  • West Brom vs. Leicester City
  • Tottenham Hotspur vs. Everton
  • Sheffield United vs. Wolves
  • Brighton and Hove Albion vs. Chelsea

The fans of the newly promoted teams Leeds United, West Brom and Fulham will be excited to watch their favorite teams play alongside some best clubs across the country.

Let’s see how fun it will be to watch the 1st week matches

1# Arsenal vs. Fulham

The very first match looks to be exciting to watch as we have been observing the Gunner’s form since they have been the FA cup and the Community Shield winners. Some new names like Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba and the former Chelsea star Willian could make their first appearances for Arsenal. With Arsenal Captain Aubameyang extending its contract and Mikel Arteta being promoted as a first team manager, Arsenal will hope for a straight win in the first game itself.

Fulham, on the other hand, will play for the first time after being promoted to the league. Fulham boss Scott Parker made some new additions in the form of Mario Lemina signed on loan from Southampton and France international Alphonse Areola signed on loan from PSG. It is the first game of the season so the fans will be very excited to watch the game

2# Crystal Palace vs. Southampton

Palace has a poor record in the PL matches. Batshuasyi’s arrival fills a heads up for palace along with Zaha looking in good shape during the pre-season who can prove a threat from the right.

From the Southampton side, Danny Ings will be a key player to watch who was recently selected for the England squad for the UEFA Nations League. Ings scored 22 Premier League goals last season. Both the teams will play their best to gain 3 points.

3# Liverpool vs. Leeds United

The 3rd Premier League match will take place between the defending champions Liverpool and the new-comers Leeds United who got promoted after 16 years. It will be a fun game to watch as both the teams look strong on their side. Liverpool won the Premier League by 18 points last season while Leeds won the championship by 10 points.

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa has confirmed that both the new signings Robin Koch and Rodrigo are available for the game, which makes up for a cracking opening game day at the Anfield.

4# West Ham vs. Newcastle

Both the teams finished last season in the bottom half of the division and will be looking to kick-off the campaign in a winning style.

Newcastle will experience some new players like Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and Jamal Lewis which makes Steve Bruce’s squad look strong. West ham player Ben Johnson will compete with Ryan Fredericks for a start at right-back. Both the team will be looking for a win.

5 # West Brom vs. Leicester City

West Bromwich Albion will face Leicester City for their first PL game of the season on Sunday. West Brom finished second in the championship last season and will expect to give a tough competition in PL.

The Leicester City key player Jamie Vardy will be a threat to West Brom who was the top goal scorer in the Premier League last season. The new signing Timothy Castagne could get a start with Wes Morgan being doubtful to start.

6 # Tottenham vs. Everton

Both the teams have a strong set of players and this will be one of the interesting matches of this weekend. James Rodriguez’s inclusion adds great strength to the Everton lineup as well, which makes this contest all the more exciting.

Fans are hoping to see Rodriguez and Allan as soon as possible. Matt Doherty and Hojbjerg recruited by Mourinho will also show a strong impact from Tottenham’s side. It will be interesting to watch how both of these teams weigh up against one another.

7 # Sheffield United vs. Wolves

Both of these teams have been in their top form since they got promoted in the Premier League. Sheffield will hope to discover the form this season too with a new addition in the form of Aaron Ramsdale in place of Dean Henderson.

Wolves will be a strong side along with players like Traore, Jimenez and the new signings Marcal and Fabio Silva.  So we will hope that the same form continues as the Wolves games are fun to watch every time.

8# Brighton vs. Chelsea

The blues have been one of the busiest clubs during the transfer window having an outstanding bargain with some amazing new signings in the form of Werner, Chilwell, Havertz, Ziyech, Sarr and Thiago Silva. They can create a threat to the Brighton side that could be in for another relegation tussle.

Seeing the strong side, it is expected that Chelsea will provide a tough competition to Liverpool and Manchester City for the PL title. Adam Lallana is expected to be featured heavily who signed a 3-year contract with Brighton and is expected to break Chelsea’s defense.

So the Premier League will drop an exciting start with some exciting matches in the 1st week. New signings will be fun to watch as they will draw a helpful impact on the games. So let’s hope that the excitement remains the same as it is every year.
