Valencia & Granada get a winning start at home – La Liga Match Week 1 Roundup

La Liga, one of the best Leagues across the globe  was expected to be resumed from June 11 but got postponed due to the unexpected pandemic Covid-19 situation. But after few days, there was exciting news for the fans as they came to know that their favorite teams will be playing again as La Liga 2020-21 fixtures had been announced.The La Liga matches started from 12th September 2020 where we experienced some exciting matches from the Match week 1 draw. Let’s have a look at the top 3 results from the La Liga opening matches.

#1. Valencia 4-2 Levante:

Valencia who finished at the 9th place last year gave an excellent start with the first game. Levante forward Morales started the excitement as soon as the match began by scoring the goal at the very 1st minute leaving Valencia 1-0 behind. After that Gabriel equalized the score line for Valencia making the overall score 1-1 at the 12th minute.

Morales was not satisfied by a single goal and netted the 2nd goal for Levante at the 36th minute. After that Maxi Gomez equalized it again for Valencia making the score 2-2. It was exciting to see the teams score one after the other increasing the thrill of the game.

The score remained 2-2 at half-time. Later on Manu Vallejo came from bench as a magical sub scoring 2 goals for Valencia and making the score 4-2 at full time. It was good to see Valencia in form in the very first game.

#2. Granada 2-0 Athletic Club:

Granada who secured the 7th position last season faced Athletic Club on Saturday. The 1st half was completed without any goals. Herrera scored the 1st goal soon after the beginning of 2nd half at the 49th minute giving Granada a 1-0 lead.

Luis Milla scored the 2nd goal of the game at the 53th minute and the overall score at full time remained 2-0 in favor of Granada. It was observed that there was a lot of fouls committed as a total of 7 yellow cards were received throughout the game. It was an overall good performance by the sides.

#3. Alaves 0-1 Betis:

The Alaves vs. Betis match was scheduled on Sunday evening.  Both the teams started the match with a slow start trying the keep maximum possession. The game ended 0-0 at half time.Both of them trying were trying to score a throughout the game but couldn’t manage to open up the score line.

At the last few minutes of extra time Tello, who came in as a substitute in place of Carvalho changed the whole momentum of the game by scoring a wonderful goal at the 94th minute providing Betis a 1-0 away win and giving the fans a reason to celebrate. There was some excellent defensive performance by Aparecido and Mandi who prevented Alaves from scoring. The match turned out from being boring to exciting at the last moment.
