Just a few days left for IPL 2020 and we are already excited to witness the matches from the day the fixtures were announced. We are sure that all the IPL fans will be counting the number of days left for the IPL to start. Our waiting period will end soon as we will experience yet another amazing season of IPL which will be starting from 19th September 2020 this Saturday with the very 1st game between Mumbai Indians against Chennai Super Kings , the teams who have the largest number of fan following.

It will be exciting to watch all the teams putting equal efforts to win the IPL 2020 trophy as all the teams look much stronger than the previous season after the addition of some new players to the team. Welcome to one of the best T20 league that is full of joy, excitement, thrills and fun where the flow of the game changes even at the last ball.

The race for the orange cap and purple cap will continue with the same level of excitement that is observed in all the seasons.  Last season David Warner won the orange cap scoring highest amount of runs i.e. 692 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad and the purple cap was earned by Imran Tahir by taking the highest number of wickets i.e. 26.

So we’ll go through the top 5 contenders who are favorites to win the purple cap this season:

#5. Yuzvendra Chahal

Chahal is one of the best spinners of Royal Challengers Bangalore who looks dangerous with his spin attack. He took 18 wickets in 14 matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore last season but still was unable to enter the race for purple cap.

Showing some amazing level of spin technique, Chahal gained a public image while playing for Mumbai Indians giving some excellent performances. He was later on bought by RCB in 2018. This season Chahal looks in a confident form to start a season and will prove to be an excellent contender to race for purple cap IPL 2020.

#4. Pat Cummins

Another choice for purple cap is Pat Cummins who became the most expensive player of this IPL season to be sold for a price of 15.5 crore by Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR fans were very excited to hear that their favorite team was the highest bidder in the IPL auction.

He will definitely make an impact in this IPL season as he is considered to be one of the best bowlers of the Australian Team and will add a value to the Kolkata Knight Riders side. Being bought as the top expensive player this season, Pat Cummins has to play a key role for his team and try to win the purple cap by taking the maximum wickets.

#3. Kagisto Rabada

Kagisto Rabada is one of the finest bowlers of Delhi Capitals who was close to winning the purple cap of the IPL 2019 season by becoming thee 2nd highest wicket taker by taking 25 wickets in 12 matches. He was just a single wicket behind Imran Tahir who won the purple cap of IPL 2019 season by taking 26 wickets.

So we will be hoping that this season he will surely be one of the favorites to lift the purple cap title with an extraordinary performance and play a major role for the Delhi Capitals.

#2. Imran Tahir

Imran Tahir, the South African spin attack who plays for the Chennai Super Kings was the purple cap holder for the 2019 IPL season taking the highest number of wickets i.e. 26. He is mostly famous for bowling excellent googlies by giving batsman minimum time to react.

He will definitely look forward to repeat the history by winning the purple cap yet another time this IPL season as his confidence has increased after winning last season and so he will looking forward to maintain the same level of performance this year as well.

#1. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah being one of the top Indian bowlers for the Indian team who plays an important role for the Mumbai Indians side. He is well known for bowling excellent Yorkers and is definitely a fan favorite.

He gave a brilliant performance last season by taking 19 wickets in 16 matches. With the absence of Lasith Malinga this season, Bumrah will have a play a vital role in the bowling attack and is definitely one of the best choices for purple cap title.
