Liverpool have completed the signing of Wolves winger Diogo Jota for a fee of reportedly 45m, as confirmed by Transfer Guru Fabrizio Romano. The Portuguese is set to sign a five-year contract with the Premier League champions becoming their 3rd summer signing after Kostas Tsimikas and Thiago Alcantara.

Liverpool is willing to pay 41m with further 4m add-ons for the 23 years old forward. Jota was left out of the Wolves squad for the Carabao Cup game against Stoke city. Diogo Jota played a key role in the progress of Wolves by giving some brilliant performances over the years.

Jota started his professional career playing for Pacos Ferreira where he scored 14 goals in 41 appearances. He got a move to Athetico Madrid at the age of 19 but failed to make a single appearance for the team. He was later on loaned to Porto and Wolves. After his move to Wolves, Jota scored 44 goals in 131 appearances for Wolves.

Jota was recently selected in the Portugal team in the UEFA Nations League where Portugal played against Croatia winning the game by 4-1. Jota netted a wonderful goal at the 58th minute scoring the debut goal for his country.

Third signing from Liverpool after Thiago and Tsimikas

Liverpool recently completed a wonderful signing in the form of Thiago Alcantara on a four year deal for a transfer fee of 30m. Thiago is given the no. 6 T-shirt. He is expected to make a Liverpool debut in the next Thursday’s Carabao Cup third-round tie at Lincoln City. Thiago will be a great addition to the Liverpool midfield that can change the impact of the game.

Liverpool’s first signing Tsimikas will also play a major role as a left-back by providing some strong advantage to the Liverpool defence. Liverpool is also in talks to sign the Nice defender Malang Sarr but they haven’t reached to an official agreement yet. If Jota signs for Liverpool, then it will give an additional boost to the attack as Jota will be playing alongside players like Mane and Salah which will make a good attacking improvement.

Jota will become the 4th biggest transfer in the history of Liverpool after Van Dijk, Alisson and Naby Keita.
