Lakers go up by one as they win the first game of the NBA Western Conference Finals

People all around the world were surprised by the fact that Denver Nuggets defeated the Los Angles Clippers and reached the NBA Western Conference Finals. The Lakers on the other hand seemed ready for any team as they reached the conference finals by defeating Huston Rockets by 4-1 and were waiting on for the other finalist to arrive.

It was an astounding start to the western conference finals as the Los Angles Lakers who in the Playoffs had lost their previous opening games against the Trail Blazers and Huston Rockets, managed to win one against Denver Nuggets as the final score line read 126 – 114.  For the Lakers, both the role player Anthony Davis and LeBron James set the tone by getting early points in the game got the momentum in their favor.


As the game progressed all the players started to chip in and began to make the plays for the Lakers as at the half time they managed to reach 70 points and had an 11 points lead over the Nuggets, the dominance continued in the third quarter as well where Anthony Davis managed to post 16 points. In the end, he was also the one with leading scores for the Lakers as he had 37 Points, 10 Rebounds, and 4 Assists.

The other players’ stats following Anthony Davis for the Lakers were Caldwell-Pope: 18 Points, 3 3 Points Made, LeBron James: 15 Points, 12 Assists, Dwight Howard: 13 Points, 2 Blocks, and Rajon Rondo: 7 Points, 9 Assists.


Following the above a few more milestones were archived as well by a couple of players for the Lakers, starting off with Rajon Rondo who moved to the tenth spot in NBA Playoffs total assists surpassing Michael Jordan’s 1022 in this game. Following Rondo was JR Smith who moved up to the Ninth spot on the NBA Playoffs 3 Points made list.


Game 2 of the NBA western conference finals will be live on September 21, Monday at 5:00 AM IST.

It is surely going to be a fight as the Lakers won’t go easy on the Nuggets and would want to end it as soon as possible because the Nuggets appear to have developed a nasty habit of making a comeback later in the series when they are down 1-3.
