ISL Transfer, signings and contract extensions from last week.

It was a busy week in the ISL transfer world and six clubs actively involved in the acquisitions of players.

ISL Transfer

FC Goa

Phrangki Buam

FC Goa announced the signing of Meghalaya midfielder Phrangki Buam on Thursday. The 19-year-old youngster arrived on 3-year contract for Gaurs. Phrangki made his debut in senior-level for Shillong Lajong in 2018-19 Hero I-League season. Ended the campaign with six goals which made him the club’s top scorer and league’s highest Indian top-scorer.

Odisha FC

Steven Taylor

Odisha FC signed English center-back Steven Taylor on Wednesday as their major signing. Taylor was a product of Newcastle United Academy and made 215 appearances for the Magpies. Wellington Phoenix skipper will boost the central defense of Odisha FC.

Kerala Blasters FC

Lalthathanga Khawlrhing, Seityasen Singh

Kerala Blasters acquired the service of 22-year-old Lalthathanga Khawlhring popularly known as Puitea. Puitea was part of NorthEast United roster and made 29 appearances for highlanders. Mizoram midfielder operates central midfield and can be used on flanks.
Kerala made another move in this week by extending Seityasen Singh’s contract. The 28-year-old Manipuri winger signed 2-year contract extension with tuskers.

Chennaiyin FC

Lalchhuanmawia Fanai, Reagan Singh

Chennaiyin added two Indian fullbacks in the defensive department on free transfers. Veteran Fanai popularly known as Chhuantea won I-League 2015-16 with Bengaluru FC, he spent the 2019-20 season with Odisha FC. The 29-year-old right-back Reagan Singh has experience of playing ISL with NorthEast United FC. Both players expressed their happiness and curiosity to play for Machans.

Jamshedpur FC

William Lalnufela, Bhupender Singh, Karan Amin

Jamshedpur FC announced the arrival of forward William Lalnufela and winger Bhupender Singh. The 25-year-old Mizoram forward won the 2016-17 I-League title with Aizwal FC. William made 27 appearances for Mizoram club Aizwal since 2015 and also spent one season with Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan.
Rising star Bhupender Singh spent youth days at Sudeva FC and got a two-year stint with Spanish Tercera Division club Olimpic Xavita’s U19 side. Head Owen Coyle has very high expectations from younger. In other news, red miners retained 31-year-old left-back Karan Amin for the 2020-21 ISL season.

Hyderabad FC

Aridane Santana, Odei Onaindia, Lalawmpuia, Sweden Fernandes

Hyderabad FC was on a hot business mood and made a whopping four signings this week. Hyderabad roped two youngsters on Monday, striker Lalawmpuia and winger Sweden Fernandes. Both attacking signings played a lot of Goan local football. Lalawmpuia came through the youth ranks of DSK Shivajians and Pune FC and then spent a lot of time in FC Goa reserve side. The 20-year-old striker made his debut for FC Goa debut in 2019-20 season.

Hyderabad made a major move by signing Spanish striker Aridane Santana after losing club captain Marcelinho to Odisha. Aridane Santana was named 2019-20 Player of the Season for Odisha FC as he scored 9 goals in 14 appearances for the side. This special signing turned out as ISL signing of the week.

The week ended with happiness for Deccan Legions after the club announced the signing of Odei Onaindia. The 30-year-old Spanish center back was a product of Athletic Bilbao and played for the B side previously.
