Spurs didn’t start their first Premier League game the way they wanted. They faced a slumping 1st game defeat against Everton by 1-0 where Calvert-Lewin scored an amazing header giving Everton the win. Spurs team looked dull against Everton as they couldn’t create many chances to score. Kane just got 2 touches in the Everton box and it was a frustrating start for the Mourinho side.

It was the first time Mourinho had lost an opening match game of Premier League season. The defeat was at least a wakeup alarm for Tottenham that they need to get a definite win in the 2nd game after a bad first start. Mourinho described that the players made a lazy start in the 1st match and could not manage to create much chances to score.

They gave a good start with an amazing victory where they gave a massive comeback from being 1-0 behind to finishing 5-2 at full-time. Mourinho made just a single change to the line-up by starting Ndombele in place of Delle Alli. This was a surprising move made by Mourinho by dropping Delle Alli from the squad after the first defeat. Fans were surprised not to see Delle Alli in the squad.  Mourinho gave a statement after the game that Delle Alli will play against Leyton Orient after being left out of the Tottenham squad to face Southampton.

The game started with an amazing first goal from Danny Ings at the 32nd minute giving Southampton a 1-0 lead. Spurs were 1-0 behind when Son make an extraordinary run by scoring an equalizer at the 45th minute just minutes before the half time break. Son scored another one at the 47th minute turning the score 2-1. Son couldn’t just stop scoring as he scoring another 2 goals making the score 4-2 at with both the assist provided by Harry Kane. At last Kane managed to score his 1st premier league goal of the season at the 82nd minute. With that goal Kane made a scoring record of 10 goals in 10 matches against Southampton.

Lamela pulled a great shot where the ball just hit the pole providing Harry Kane a chance to score. All the 4 goals scored by Son were assisted by Kane. We all know that Kane is an excellent finisher but in yesterday’s game Kane played the role of an excellent assist provider.

Spurs have finally started the league with an exciting confidence and with the addition of new signings in the form of Gareth Bale and Reguilon, the spurs side will be a delight to watch in the upcoming matches.
