Transfer Update: Morata returns to Juventus after failed Suarez move, Suarez heading to Athletico Madrid

Luiz Suarez is close to join Diego Simeone’s side after a failed Juventus move. Suarez will receive a settlement from Barcelona after the final year of his contract at Camp Nou is terminated. The contract will be of a two-year deal which will be worth 9m including a number of incentives. Suarez will leave the club after 6 years of amazing memories.

In 6 seasons as a Barcelona player, Suarez scored a total of 198 goals in 283 games becoming the 3rd top scorer after Lionel Messi and Cesar.

The Uruguayan is set to travel to Madrid to undergo a medical in the coming days and is expected to make a debut in the Sunday’s La Liga opening game against Granada.

Suarez made up his decision to leave as soon as Ronald Koeman arrived at Barcelona as he told that Suarez is not in his plans of moving forward. The forward was initially expected to make a move with the Juventus side and his close to make an agreement with the club. Suarez travelled to Italy for a language exam to get a passport. Juventus sporting director confirmed that there were questions over irregularities of Suarez’s language exam. So Suarez failed to sign Juventus and will be expected to join Athletico Madrid soon.

OFFICIAL:  Juventus sign Morata from Athletico on a season-long loan

Juventus has completed the signing of Alvaro Morata on a season-long loan deal. They have agreed a one-year loan deal which is set to cost 9m and an option to buy for 45m.

Morata’s departure will open up a place for Suarez to join the Athletico side, who leaves Barcelona after having established himself as one of the club’s all-time great strikers. Morata played for Juventus earlier back in 2014-2016 where he scored 27 goals in 93 appearances.

The 27-year old has struggled for consistency with the Athletico side since his return to the Spanish capital in 2018. At the same time, he did not have a good season at Chelsea either. So by joining the Juventus side will provide an opportunity for Morata to shine again by playing alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Dybala making the Juventus attack much stronger.

After the departure of Higuain, who joined David Beckham’s Inter-Miami side, Pirlo was looking forward to buy a striker and they finally found one in the form of Alvaro Morata. Let’s hope that Alvaro Morata is able to make progress through the Juventus side.
