The UEFA Super Cup of the 2020 season will feature the German club Bayern Munich, the winners of 2019-20 UEFA Champions League and the Spanish Club Sevilla, the winners of the 2019-20 UEFA Europa League. The match will be played at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary, on Thursday September 24 at 12:30 IST.

The match was originally scheduled to be played at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto, Portugal on 12th August 2020, but got postponed due to this unexpected COVID-19 pandemic situation and it was relocated to be played at Budapest, Hungary.

Sevilla have been the masters of winning the Europa League. They have won the tournament for a total of 6 times. Sevilla have won the Super Cup once way back in 2006. Sevilla is playing its first competitive game of the 2020-21 and will likely to give a debut to Ivan Rakitic after the Croatian midfielder arrived from Barcelona on Sept 1.

Bayern flew into Budapest on Wednesday with a full squad including Leroy Sane, who is expected to win his first trophy for the Bayern side, and Serge Gnabry, who scored a hat-trick in Fridayโ€™s 8-0 massive win against Schalke. The Germans are most likely to win the cup with their continued form and increased confidence. Bayern started the season with an amazing 8-0 win against Schalke in the 1st match of Bundesliga.

Sevilla didnโ€™t get much time to prepare as the last match that they played was the UEFA Europa League final against Inter. Bayern, on the other hand, will start the cup game with a different level of confidence after winning the previous game.
