IPL 2020 M19- Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Delhi Capitals – Preview

Its Virat Vs Shreyas in match number 19 of the Indian Premier League season 2020. The two in-form teams will take on each other. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will play Delhi Capitals at Dubai International Stadium on Monday evening.

Both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals have been in good form. They are the only teams who have won three matches in this season so far. These two teams are separated only by the terms of the net run rate at the moment, and they have every chance to better their net rate in this match.

The team who wins this match will go on the top position in the points table. RCB has quality spin bowlers while DC has quality pace bowlers, which makes this encounter more interesting to watch for the fans.

The similarity between these two teams is the top three batsmen who are dominating. RCB has Paddikal, Finch, and Kohli. In comparison, the Capitals have the young and dynamic Prithivi Shaw, superb Dhawan, and possibly India’s next captain, Shreyas Iyer.

This contest is also seen between the two skippers— The current skipper Vs the future captain of India. Virat Kohli is the Indian team’s current captain in all three formats, and Shreyas Iyer is the first contender for being the next captain.

The only difference between Bangalore and Delhi is that RCB has depth in their batting order. Bangalore has AB De Villiers, who can take the game away from the opposition. But Delhi doesn’t have that luxury with them.

Bangalore has a good record against Delhi. In 24 matches played between the two teams, Bangalore has won 15 of them, and Delhi has managed to past RCB only eight times till now. But RCB will look to improve their performance from the last season. Delhi had won both the matches, which was played in IPL 2019.

This year Bangalore has given a royal performance in the four matches which they have played. Their wins against Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Rajasthan will boost them ahead of this match. But Virat and Co. will not look to repeat their performance which they gave against Kings XI Punjab.

RCB are currently placed second on the points table after their win against Rajasthan. Now their next aim should be to get on top of the points table. They need to replicate their performance, which they gave against SRH, MI, and RR.

For the first time, RCB won the match by chasing a total, which itself an excellent positive point for them. They were successful in restricting the Rajasthan batsmen to a modest score. Their bowlers set up the game for them by picking up the wickets of three leading players.

Smith, Buttler, and Samson were out in the powerplay overs, and the game was done and dusted there itself because the middle order of the RR is very weak. RR didn’t have the firepower to challenge Bangalore’s bowlers, and that’s why they could score just 158 runs.

Then, the RCB had a vital contribution from Devduut Paddikal. This Karnataka batsman continued to impress, and Virat Kohli’s unbeaten knock saw his through a terrific win. Virat is back in form; this is good news for RCB ahead of Delhi’s game.

RCB has a balanced team. They bat deep, and then they have the bowlers who can defend a modest score just like defended against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The top 4 batsmen are in good form, and they will expect that Padikkal, Finch, Kohli, and ABD will continue to fire for them.

In the bowling department, they have two quality spin bowlers. Yuzvendra Chahal is the lead spinner, and to accompany him, Australia’s Adam Zampa will also play a crucial role in the side. Bangalore can also use Moeen Ali if they feel. Ali can give an extra bowling option in the middle order.

There are batsmen after AB De Villiers. All-rounders like Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube can bat. But if RCB feels then, they can try Moeen Ali in the middle order. Ali might not be effective as Zampa. But still, he can bowl his four overs and bat as well in the middle order.

The pace battery will have work to do because its only Chahal who has been picking up the most wickets. Udana has been good. But Saini and Dube can be much better then what they have performed till now.

The Probable and Predicted Playing XI of Royal Challengers Bangalore –  Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Shivam Dube/Mohd Siraj, Gurkeerat Singh Mann, Washington Sundar, Isuru Udana, Navdeep Saini, Adam Zampa/Moeen Ali, Yuzvendra Chahal.

DC – Delhi Capitals – Team’s Preview

The Capitals are currently holding the top spot in the points table after winning against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday night. They too, have a well-balanced team, but DC is dependent on their top three to score runs.

Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan have batted well and have given the good starts in the innings for them, and then it has been only Shreyas Iyer who has led Delhi Capitals from the front. But the likes of Pant, Stoinis, and Hetmyer have just came and went like a gush of wind.

If the Capitals wants to stay on top, then the middle order batsmen should come good. Stoinis played a brilliant knock in their opening match, which was played against Punjab. His cameo of 57 runs allowed DC to win that encounter in the end.

DC will want these types of contributions more from Stoinis, and they also need consistent runs from Pant and Hetmyer. In the last match, Shimron Hetmyer didn’t get a chance to bat. But whenever he got the opportunity, he didn’t use it.

Capitals can include someone like Alex Carey in the middle order. Carey has the experience to bat during the final overs of a T20 innings, and he can help the Capitals to finish games as well. DC can also try Keemo Paul in their next match.

Paul is a fast-bowling all-rounder who bats a bit. Delhi already has three quality pacers; adding Keemo Paul will not harm, but it will add more depth in their bowling department.

Rabada, Nortje, Ashwin, Harshal, and Mishra Ji did a fantastic job against Kolkata Knight Riders. It is not easy to defend any totals in a smaller ground like Sharjah. But still, they restricted KKR and won that match by 18 runs.

These bowlers will be relieved when they go to Dubai, where they have bigger ground, and the boundary ropes are wider. The likes of Ashwin and Mishra will be more effective in Dubai then were at Sharjah.

The Probable and Predicted Playing XI of Delhi Capitals

Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Shimron Hetmyer/Keemo Paul, Alex Carey, Marcus Stoinis, Ravichandran Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Amit Mishra, Harshal Patel.

Star Sports Networks will broadcast this match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals on 5th October 2020 at 7.30 PM IST, 2 PM GMT and 6 PM Local. The live streaming of this match will also be available on HOTSTAR.
