The Mumbai Indians campaign has started peaking at the right time after their loss to Chennai Super Kings in their opening encounter. Rohit Sharma had led them to two wins on his own. His excellent knocks against Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab allowed MI to win those encounters.

But Rajasthan Royals has gone down in two back to back matches since they have moved away from Sharjah. The Double R’s played well against Kings XI Punjab at that venue where the boundaries are shorter. They chased down a record total at that venue.

Since then, Steve Smith and Co. are struggling to win games. Their recent loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore hurt them because nothing clicked for them. It was Virat and his boys who won that encounter quite easily in the end.

Despite that Rajasthan has lost their momentum, as fans, we can expect a close game between the two blue sides. MI and RR have played 11 matches in this cash-rich league tournament and from that, MI and RR have won 11 games each to their names.

MI And RR Previews

MI – Mumbai Indians – Team’s Preview

The defending champions have three great wins under their belt which puts them ahead of this encounter. Their wins against Kolkata, Hyderabad and Punjab will boost their confidence, and due to those wins, MI are placed at the top of the points table currently.

Mumbai’s loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore will not hurt because at one point there were down and out of that contest. It was an amazing comeback from Ishan Kishen and Kieron Pollard which almost won that match for them.

Their recent win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Sharjah will boost their confidence even more. They were successful in keeping the SRH batsmen quite on a smaller venue like Sharjah after the batsmen scored a competitive score of 208 runs.

The bowlers were the ones who defended that score. The three best pace bowlers of International cricket are in the team of Mumbai Indians.

Bumrah, Pattinson and Boult have done their job. MI can also use Pollard as their full-time bowler. Kieron Pollard is the best pace-bowling all-rounder for Mumbai Indians right now.

Hardik Pandya has been batting decently but in this season. But he has contributed only as a batsman. There have been some niggles for Hardik in this season, that’s why he hasn’t bowled yet. But Hardik’s brother Krunal has been facing a tough time with bat and ball.

The spin department looks weak, and it is not lethal as the pace bowling department of Mumbai Indians. But still, Mumbai Indians shouldn’t disturb their winning combination. They should play with the same XI which faced SRH on Sunday.

The Probable and Predicted Playing XI of Mumbai Indians – Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah.

RR – Rajasthan Royals – Team’s Preview

Rajasthan royally started their IPL 2020 season. They won the matches against Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab. But after they have moved from Sharjah, The Royals have two back to back defeats.

Now, Steve Smith and Co. will have to come up with something special to win against the defending champions Mumbai Indians. The Rohit led MI team is a tough opposition to beat. Rajasthan cant take them lightly especially after facing the two losses.

Rajasthan Royals haven’t come, over the hangover of Sharjah. They still think that the boundaries of the other venues in UAE are short and due to that they play a poor shot and get out. Even their bowling doesn’t look good as it did in the first two games.

Only Jofra Archer has bowled well for them. But the likes of Undakat, Riyan Parag and Tom Curran haven’t been delivering for them. Rajasthan Royals should add Andrew Tye in their playing XI. The Aussie fast bowler has an accurate line and length, which can trouble the MI batsmen.

The Royals could also drop Shreyas Gopal. Mayank Markande will be a perfect fit for them in their playing XI.

The batsmen also need to contribute. RR is heavily dependent on the top three. If Buttler, Samson and Smith don’t score runs, then the middle order will not score runs because Uthappa, Parag and Tewatia don’t have the firepower which could take the innings through.

RR need them to fire. They might consider the possibility of adding David Miller in place of Jos Buttler because Buttler hasn’t delivered for the double R’s and the inclusion of Miller can help Rajasthan to solve their batting woes in the middle order.

The Probable and Predicted Playing XI of Rajasthan Royals –  Steven Smith, Sanju Samson, Robin Uthappa, Mahipal Lomror,  David Miller, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Andrew Tye, Jofra Archer, Jaydev Unadkat and Mayank Markande.

This encounter will be shown live on the Star Sports Networks and HOTSTAR. The matches will start at 7.30 PM IST, 6 PM Local and 2 PM GMT on 6th October 2020, Tuesday.
