EPL Transfer Round-Up: International Deadline Day


October 5th was the last day for the clubs to add some new faces to their squads and all clubs have been busy in the transfer market as the transfer window was about to close soon. Manchester United was the busiest among all the other clubs to make a massive boost by the addition of 4 players to the club.

Let’s go through the transfers that took place on the deadline day:

1# Fulham – Loftus Cheek, Anderson, Adarabioyo

Loftus-Cheek joins Fulham’s side on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea. The England midfielder scored 6 Premier League goals for the Blues in the 2019-19 season before facing an injury.

Loftus-Cheek could be a good addition to the Fulham side as he will get more chances to prove himself. He didn’t get many starts for the Chelsea side after the injury blow. Fulham also signed Denmark CB Anderson on a season-long loan from Lyon and Defender Adarabioyo has joined the team on a 3 year deal from Manchester City.

2# Arsenal – Thomas Partey

Arsenal signs Thomas Partey on a long-term deal from Athletico Madrid for a fee of 45m. He was one of the most expensive signings of deadline day.

The 27-year-old won both the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in his time at the Spanish club. On the other hand, Lucas Torreira joins Athletico on a season-long loan and Guendouzi joins Herta Berlin’s side on loan.

3# Southampton – Theo Walcott

Theo Walcott returns to boyhood club Southampton on loan. Theo Walcott’s bench period has ended for the Everton side and he will get a chance to start for the Southampton side. That is the only signing Southampton has made on deadline day. Southampton CB Hoedt has joined Lazio on a loan.

4# Leeds – Raphinha


Leeds has made a move for the Brazilian winger Raphinha from Rennes on a 4-year deal. Raphinha will wear the No 18 shirt at Elland Road and could make his debut for Leeds on October 19 in the game against Wolves. Raphinha is Leeds’s 13th signing of this summer window.

5# Everon – Ben Godfrey, Robin Olsen

Everton made a last moment signing in the form of Ben Godfrey from Norwich on a 5 year deal for a fee of 20m. The center-back will be a great addition to Ancelloti’s side. They have also signed Robin Olsen on loan from Roma to compete with Jordan Pickford. Walcott joins the Southampton side on loan.

6# Manchester United – Alex Telles, Cavani, Amad Diallo Traore, Facundo Pellistri

United had a very busy day yesterday as they made a massive 4 player addition to their squad. Alex Telles joined the team after a long wait. The Brazilian left-back joined the team for a fee of 13.5m from Porto. He will cover the LB position competing with Shaw who is seen to be struggling these days. Atlanta winger Amad Diallo has completed his transfer for 37.2m who will join the club in January.

The big news arrived when United completed the signing of Edinson Cavani, one of the famous names in the attack. He has joined United on a free transfer. United also have made an addition in the form of Facundo Pellistri, the Uruguayan right-winger who will cover the right-wing problem for United.

Chris Smalling has joined Roma on a permanent deal of 18m after serving for the Manchester United for 10 years.
