Both the teams have formed a perfect playing eleven, which is why it would be a great challenge to win this encounter.

These two teams are also the top two teams in the IPL points table. Mumbai Indians is placed second with eight points while Delhi Capitals is on the first spot with ten points. This match will decide who will be holding the supremacy on the points table.

The journey of the defending champions has been good till now. MI had started the tournament on a bitter note against Chennai Super Kings, but they fought back nicely to enter the second spot of the points table.

Even though their second loss was against Royal Challengers Bangalore, but they don’t mind that loss as they have built a strong self-belief and MI also knows how to make a comeback from any situation.

Now the defending champs will be up against a tougher team who holds the top spot in the IPL points table. Delhi Capitals are an equally dangerous side in the tournament. Delhi Capitals have quality bowlers and batters, which could hammer a team like Mumbai Indians.

The top four batsmen of Mumbai Indians will hold the key in this match. If they could play out Rabada, Nortje and Ashwin without losing any wickets. Then the defending champions will stand a great chance of winning this encounter, and they can go back to the number one position in the points table.

Rohit, De Kock, Suryakumar and Ishan Kishen have been good for them, and all these four batsmen have scored a half-century at least once in this tournament. Mumbai Indians have power hitters like Pandya Brothers and Pollard as well in the backend, which can take the run rate to another level in the death overs.

MI scored just 124 runs in the 16th over against Kings XI Punjab. At that point, no one would have thought that their score will reach 191 runs at the end of 20 overs. It was the best power-hitting one might have seen from Pollard and Hardik, which ensured a win for them.

The consistency of this team is high in the batting, bowling and fielding department. After the batsmen, it’s the bowlers who can do the damage for MI. They couldn’t defend 164 runs against CSK in their first match.

But the bowlers also bounced back nicely after that loss. Jasprit Bumrah has been their lead bowler, and they have no worries regarding his form. With that, they also have Pattinson and Boult in their playing XI who are equally lethal.

MI can also add Nathan Coulter – Nile if he is fit. But they will need to figure out who will replace if Nathan is added in their playing eleven. But at the moment, Mumbai doesn’t need any changes in their playing XI.

The Probable Predicted XI of Mumbai Indians – Rohit Sharma, Quinton De Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishen, Kieron Pillard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Rahul Chachar, Trent Boult, James Pattinson and Jasprit Bumrah.

The Capitals entered the tournament as underdogs. But they have silenced their critics by giving some brilliant performances. Their playing XI has been equally good as Mumbai Indians. They will also want their top four batters to come good just like their opposition team.

If Shaw and Dhawan get a good start in the powerplay overs, then the pace attack of Mumbai Indians will be weak and if the batsmen don’t give any wickets to the three quality fast bowlers. Then the DC batsmen can attack the two spinners at ease.

Their middle order is only a concern, as the likes of Pant and Hetmyer are not consistent. That’s why Delhi will need Shreyas Iyer to bat through the innings just like he did against Rajasthan Royals. Marcus Stoinis is another batsman whose consistency is remarkable. His all-round skills are indeed the plus point for DC.

In the last match, it was Shimron Hetmyer who had rescued the Capitals. DC was in a spot of bother at one stage. But admirable Hetmyer and Stoinis ensured that DC would get to a competitive score on the board.

If Hetmyer fires in the middle order, then DC has an excellent chance of maintaining their number one position in the points table.

Rabada, Nortje, Ashwin, Stoinis, Axar and Harshal Patel have been in good form in the tournament. But the whole Delhi Capitals will have to on their toes if they want to defeat the defending champions Mumbai Indians.

This MI team has lots of experienced players who might play a considerable part between winning and losing this encounter.

The Probable and Predicted Playing XI of Delhi Capitals – Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, Risabh Pant, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravi Ashwin, Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada.

The neck to neck battle between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals will be aired live at 7.30 PM on Sunday, 11th October 2020. Star Sports Networks will telecast this match and live streaming will be shown on HOTSTAR mobile application.
