The First Innings: Delhi Capitals was the team to bat first today. Shaw and Dhawan opened the batting as usual. Prithvi Shaw got out on the third ball of the innings after hitting a four. DC was given an early jolt by Boult from MI. The experienced Ajinkya Rahane came to bat at number 3. However, Rahane has never been a T20 player. That was evident today as well. Rahane scored 15 runs at run a ball before getting out by LBW.

Delhi’s scoreboard looked poor at 24-2. Delhi required a good partnership for posting a respectable total on the board. Shreyas Iyer came in to partner Dhawan. Both of them adapted well to the situation. Dhawan was looking in a terrific form. He scored 69 runs at a strike rate of over 130. Shreyas Iyer also partnered him well, scoring 42 runs in the process. They had a good partnership of 85 runs before Iyer got out in the 15th over. Later Marcus Stoinis scored a quick 13 of 8 deliveries before getting run out. Finally, Carey partnered Dhawan. Shikhar Dhawan carried the bat through the innings.

The Second Innings: The usual pair of De Kock- Sharma came out to bat for Mumbai. MI had a slow start to their innings today. They scored only 12 runs of the first 3 overs. De Kock finally decided to switch gears in the 4th over, hitting Ashwin for 12 runs. Rohit Sharma also decided to go big in the 5th over but was caught out. The in-form Suryakumar Yadav came in to bat next. De Kock and Surya had a good 46 runs partnership before De Kock was caught out. Surya got out soon after. Even Hardik Pandya was not able to make an impact today and got out on a duck. Kishan and Pollard played well and brought MI closer to victory. Kishan got out and finally Krunal and Pollard steered MI home. The chase looked like a comfortable run a ball situation towards the end. MI did not have a lot of trouble chasing down the score inspite of losing wickets.
