It was a good home summer season for England. Despite the pandemic, England hosted West Indies, Pakistan, and Australia for an International series. England won the Test series against The Windies and Pakistan. They also won the T20I series against Australia.

But the T20 International series against Pakistan was drawn, and the home side, the current world champion side, also lost the One Day International series at home against The Aussies.

After England’s home summer season, England has quite a few plans of touring the other countries. But with COVID 19 pandemic, the teams cannot travel like the earlier days. With that, the traveling rules and quarantine periods are subjected to remain the same.

There are various possibilities that the England Cricket Board – ECB has entertained. England had planned a tour to South Africa in March – April 2021 to play three ODIs and three T20 International matches against Proteas.

But now, the situation has changed due to the COVID 19. England hopes that the tour to the Proteas Nation goes ahead in November 2021. Despite the pandemic situation and all the mess which is going around in the Cricket South Africa board.

But still, they need to stay in the bio bubble atmosphere in Cape Town. The first half of the series will be played in Cape Town, and the next half of the series will be shifted to Paarl. Still, the dates of this limited-overs series have not been announced.

England also planned a training camp in the winter season. But very few players will take part in this. With many long breaks between the Test series, England wants to arrange a camp at the United Arab Emirates to work on their skills. They also want to announce their squads, which will tour Sri Lanka and India.

They are high possibilities that this camp might go-ahead from late November to mid-December. But there is no guarantee of England touring Sri Lanka to play a test match series. If England doesn’t go to Sri Lanka, then this training camp might go ahead in January.

England’s Tour of Sri Lanka was planned in March 2020. But Due to the COVID 19 cases, this tour was abandoned. England and Sri Lanka were to play a series of two Test matches. This series didn’t go ahead after a warm-up match in Colombo.

According to the new developments, England’s Tour of Sri Lanka will go ahead in January 2021. Both the Test matches would be played in Dambulla. But England Cricket Board hasn’t agreed to Sri Lanka’s current quarantine rules and arrangements.

The quarantine arrangement made by Sri Lanka says that the visitors will have to spend two weeks in their rooms. So England has requested the Sri Lankan Board to allow the players training during the quarantine period.

If the Sri Lankan Board and Government fulfill this demand of the England Board, only then England will travel to Sri Lanka. Or they might cancel the tour just like Bangladesh canceled their tour after failing to meet the above suggestions. The Sri Lankan government are also willing to compromise during such uncertain times.

England also planned to tour India for the limited-overs series before the World T20, and they would continue the tour after that ICC mega event, which has been postponed. Then England ends this tour by playing a series of five Test matches.

This schedule had also taken a hit due to COVID 19. England might tour India in January, and this tour will continue till March, and there is a good chance that England will travel to India, and UAE will be the other likely venue.

But Instead of five Test matches, which was scheduled earlier, England might play just four Test matches and three matches in the 50 over format and the 20 over format.

England was to tour the Netherlands to play three-match series in the One Day International format in May. At this moment, this tour to the Netherlands will go ahead. But with the second-string England side.

This ODI series against the Netherlands can clash with the IPL’s final league stages, and the World Test Championship will also be played in June. So that’s why the England Cricket team’s leading players will be busy with other series or working with their red balls skills.

England owes West Indies and Pakistan a tour. After these two countries toured England in pandemic times, England should tour West Indies and Pakistan despite there is no schedule to visit these countries until 2022.

England is currently scheduled to play two test matches and three T20 Internationals in the Caribbean. But now, CWI – Cricket West Indies Board has included the third Test match on their schedule.

CWI also hopes that the crowds will witness the great game live by then, and Pakistan Cricket Board hopes that England will visit in October 2022. England will be in the United Arab Emirates for their training periods, so England might tour Pakistan to play a couple of T20Is, and this will also mark England’s first International Tour to Pakistan since 2005.
