IPL 2020: Ishant Sharma out of IPL 2020 due to muscle tear injury

The Delhi Capitals franchise has a double blow in this season. After their spin bowler, Amit Mishra was ruled out of the IPL 2020 season. It’s the premiere Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma who has been ruled out of the tournament due to muscle tear injury.

Ishant faced pain in his rib cage while bowling in the practice session in Dubai. The investigations suggested that Ishant had a left internal oblique muscle tear. That’s why he has been ruled out of the tournament.

Ishant has been a vital member of the Delhi Capitals set up. In this IPL 2020 season, he played only one match, and now because of injury, he will have to sit out of the whole tournament. Ishant played that lone match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which DC lost, and in that match, Ishant couldn’t pick up any wickets to his name.

The Capitals used the other pace bowlers like Avesh Khan, Mohit Sharma, and Harshal Patel in place of Ishant Sharma. But these three pacers too couldn’t cement their spot in the playing XI of Delhi Capitals.

Still, Delhi Capitals have played nicely in this season. Apart from the two losses which came against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, the Capitals have been ruthless in their performance. They have won five matches from seven games so far, and they are second on the IPL points table with ten points.

Today, they have every chance of reclaiming the top spot, that they lost to Mumbai Indians a few days ago. Delhi Capitals will face Rajasthan Royals at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai. After they won the previous encounter against the Double R’s at Sharjah, Shreyas and his boys will fancy their chances again to win this one as well.
