IPL 2020: Potential Players for the Emerging Player of the Year Award

The Indian Premier League means where the talent meets opportunity. The main motto of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is to find young talents from every state in India and nurture and nourish them with the legends who could guide India’s young guns. In the IPL 2020 season, some youngsters have been performing well for the respected franchises. These players didn’t have name, fame, and money. But a single IPL contract has given them all. #1. Devdutt Padikkal

The 20-Year-Old Opener Devdutt Padikkal has Impressed everyone in this year’s IPL. Devdutt Padikkal may have to face some criticism for not being as quick as he should be in the middle of the innings, but in terms of consistency, the Karnataka left-handed batsman has been very impressive. So far, Paddikal scored three fifties in the IPL 2020. The southpaw has regularly scored 30+ in matches in which he has not scored a half-century and has given RCB a solid start. Paddikal would be the first choice of winning the Emerging Player award in the IPL 2020 season.

#2. Riyan Parag

The middle-order batsmen from Rajasthan Royals have also got praised due to his batting performance. But he has also been criticized for not scoring runs consistently in the middle order of RR. Due to his lack of consistency, Rajasthan has lost matches from the winning position. His match performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad showed the world that he has got immense talent. But if that talent meets consistency, then the 18-year-old Riyan Parag will play for India one day. Parag needs to be in an excellent rhythm to hit sixes at Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where there are long boundary ropes. But he will find it easy to clear the boundary ropes of Sharjah, which is the shortest venue of the tournament. He could be the Emerging Player of this edition.

#3. Ravi Bishnoi

Bishnoi also represented India in the Under 19 World Cup tournament last year. He has already met expectations in his first IPL match. Even though he has not taken consecutive wickets, he bowled very accurately, and he proved to be expensive in hardly any games. Bishnoi is like a modern-day leg spinner who relies more on his googly than a leg-spinning delivery. It is not easy for a batsman to use his feet against Bishnoi. He is in the race for the Emerging Player award.

#4. Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal has got only a few matches for the Rajasthan Royals. Still, he has shown a glimpse of his talent against the Delhi Capital’s quality bowling attack. He also hit two big sixes during his innings. There is no doubt that Yashasvi has talent. If he gets more chances in the upcoming matches, then he can impress everyone with his performance.

#5. Tom Banton

KKR’s Tom Banton is the only overseas player included in this list. Tom made his IPL debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore. But he could not score many runs on his debut, and now he hopes to get more opportunities in the future, as KKR has lost confidence in Sunil Narine.  Banton has achieved a lot of success in leagues across the world, and he can do the same in the upcoming matches of the IPL. His aggression and Shubman Gill’s calmness will help KKR to do well in the forthcoming games of the Indian Premier League season 2020.
