It is not easy to run in and bowl a delivery which has speed with an accuracy of line and length. Still, some bowlers have done it in this cash-rich league tournament. In today’s segment, we will let our IPL fans know about such bowlers who have bowled the fastest deliveries in IPL history. In this record, the men from Proteas are leading the way as 5 South Africans bowlers hold this record with no Indian, Australian, England and Sri Lankan bowler have featured in this list.

#1. Anrich Nortje

156.2 kmph – Delhi Capitals has won their last game against Rajasthan Royals, and they are leading the IPL points table with 12 points. Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada are the leading pace bowlers who have done a tremendous job for DC till now. In yesterday’s game, Nortje bowled a delivery at 156.2 kmph against Rajasthan. This is one of the fastest deliveries bowled by any fast bowler in the history of this cash-rich league tournament. He also castled Jos Buttler with his extremely quick delivery.

#2. Anrich Nortje

155.2 kmph – In the same match, which was played against Rajasthan Royals the Proteas pacer bowled the second fastest delivery. Nortje has been excellent with the ball. His fitness and accuracy with the white ball have been outstanding. It is not easy to bowl the fastest delivery twice in the same match. But Nortje did that yesterday. He bowled a pacey delivery of 155.2 kmph to Jos Buttler which he survived.

#3. Anrich Nortje

154.7 kmph – The right-arm pace bowler from South Africa, Anrich Nortje has been featured third time in this list. Nortje broke Dale Steyn’s eight-year record when he bowled a delivery 154.7 kilometres per hour in the same IPL 2020 season.

#4. Dale Steyn

154.4 kmph – The Steyn Gun was the fearsome bowler in the year 2012. He is still regarded as the dangerous bowler in IPL. But his recent performance was not up to the standards which he has set. In the year 2012, Dale Steyn bowled the fourth fastest delivery of Indian Premier League history. He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore right from his debut IPL season, and he bowled the delivery at 154.4 kilometres per hour against Deccan Chargers, the IPL champions of the 2009 edition.

#5. Kagiso Rabada

154.2 kmph – Another pace bowler from Delhi Capitals and South Africa who has bowled the fastest delivery in the IPL. Delhi Capitals reached the playoff stage for the first time in the history of IPL, and much credit goes to the Proteas pacer, Kagiso Rabada. He has bowled the fifth-fastest delivery in the overall IPL history. In 2019, Rabada bowled a delivery which had the pace of 154.2 kilometres per hour.

#6. Kagiso Rabada

153.9 kmph – Kagiso Rabada has been the most successful bowler from South Africa in the IPL history. He has earned a respected name in international cricket in a very short span. He has speed and pace. But he also bowls with an accurate line and length, that’s why he has picked up the most wickets for the Delhi Capitals franchise till now.  Rabada has bowled the fastest deliveries twice in the same season. The South African pace bowler has bowled a delivery of 153.9 kilometres in the IPL 2019 season.
