IPL 2020: Eoin Morgan takes over the KKR Captaincy from Dinesh Karthik

Dinesh Karthik has decided to step down from the captaincy of Kolkata Knight Riders, and he has handed the responsibility of leading the side to England’s 2019 world cup winning skipper Eoin Morgan.

DK took this decision to concentrate on his batting skills. Till now, Karthik has scored just one-half century with only 108 runs to his name, and he has averaged just 15.42 in this tournament. Under the leadership of DK, KKR has won four matches from seven games in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League, and they are placed in the fourth position on the points table of the IPL 2020 season.

Eoin Morgan, the new skipper of the KKR team, has was the vice-captain when the IPL 2020 season started. Under Morgan’s leadership, England won their maiden ICC World Cup title in the year 2019 and he also led England to the final of the World T20 tournament, which was won by West Indies.

Morgan had played for KKR from 2011 to 2013, and he was picked up in the auction of 2019 again. Morgan was signed up for 5.25 crores in that event to participate in the IPL 2020 season.
