Last year, Andre Russell won the most valuable player award in the IPL 2019 season. Russell’s all-round heroics were a treat to watch in the cash-rich league tournament. He blasted many balls out of the park, and with that, he bowled well to earn this award. During the IPL 2020 season, Rajasthan Royals pace bowler Jofra Archer won the award of the most valuable player in this season. The player from England deserves to win this prestigious award because he had contributed with the bat and ball in this season.

Jofra Archer was a spearhead for the Double R’s in this season. He was quite lethal with the new and the old ball. It was Archer, who gave early breakthroughs upfront. But still, Rajasthan Royals couldn’t qualify for the playoff berth. Archer picked up 20 wickets from 14 matches with an economy rate of 6.55, and he also bowled 175 deliveries as dot balls.

Archer achieved an exceptional feat in his IPL career as he is the one who starts the proceedings, and he again balls in the final overs of a T20 game. Archer also contributed as a lower-order batsman for Rajasthan Royals. In 14 matches, England bowled scored 113 runs with a strike rate of 179.36. Archer has shown that he can be the best all-rounder who can bat in the England Team’s lower order with a performance like these.

Jofra Archer has shown everyone with his caliber and class this season. He is also one of the top performers this season for the Double R’s. Now the Rajasthan Royals franchise will have to retain him for the IPL 2021 season, which might be just six months away. If they don’t retain him for the next season, their road will be more challenging in the upcoming season of IPL 2021, and with that, their hunt for the second IPL title will be prolonged even more.
