#1. Chennaiyin FC 0 – 0 Kerala Blasters

The season’s first Southern Derby remained goalless due to the heroics of Blasters’ goalkeeper Albino Gomes. Chennaiyin got a golden opportunity to score a goal from the penalty mark in the 74th minute. Veteran Jakub Sylvester’s penalty attempt was denied by the hero of the match Albino Gomes. Both teams shared points in a solidify encounter although goalless results are not often we witness in Southern Derby.

#2. FC Goa 1 – 1 NorthEast United

Fans witnessed points settlement and heated confrontation between two youngest ISL managers. Idrissa Sylla opened the scoreline for NorthEast after converting the penalty in the 40th minute thanks to Ivan Gonzalez’s foul. Although Brandon Fernandes’ beautiful assist and Angulo’s acrobatic finish equalized the scoreline just three minutes later. A controversial incident where Goa midfielder Albert Noguera knocked down the NorthEast coach made headlines. Gaurs missed the opportunity to register their first win in ISL7 while Highlanders retained their unbeaten position.

#3. Mumbai City 3 – 0 East Bengal

Mumbai City’s oil foiled the engine of East Bengal in a 3-0 one-sided victory. Star striker Adam Le Fondre opened the scoreline through counter-attack and later converted a penalty to complete his brace. Spaniard Hernan Santana scored his debut ISL goal to blown away SC East Bengal from the game. Hugo Boumous stole the show after his two assists and penalty winning effort. Dominating performance will boost the confidence of Lobera’s side while Red and Golds are still in search of their debut ISL goal and match points.

#4. Hyderabad FC 1 – 1 Jamshedpur FC

Hyderabad’s impervious defense faced a fluid attack of Jamshedpur FC in absence of key guardian Subrata Paul. Paul did not concede in the first two games hence former FC Goa captain Laxmikant Kattimani replaced him in goal. Spanish striker Aridane Santana and Jamshedpur central defender Stephen Eze got featured on the scoresheet. Hyderabad’s young prodigy Mohammed Yasir received praises for his pungent gameplay.

#5. ATK Mohun Bagan 1 – 0 Odisha FC

An unforgettable night for Mariners where star striker Roy Krishna broke the deadlock in the last seconds to knock Odisha. Antonio Lopez Habas changed certain things and transformed tactics by having more possession and passes. Hyderabad conceded a goal thus currently ATK Mohun Bagan is the only team with zero conceded goals this season. Mariners are on top of the table with nine perfect points where Roy Krishna scored in all three fixtures.

#7. Player of the week: Albino Gomes

Kerala Blasters goalkeeper Albino Gomes pulled the limelight when he saved a penalty in the opening fixture of game week. He stood like an impervious wall against Chennaiyin FC attackers hence successfully kept a clean sheet in Southern Derby. Gomes faced two shots on target and made four clearances as well. He is fulfilling expectations which Tuskers tagged on him after his arrival from Odisha FC.
