Test Series for Indian women’s cricket team during Australia tour in September

Indian Women’s cricket team will play a test series against the Australian Women’s team in the upcoming tour in September 2021. Currently, the Indian cricket team is gearing for series against England in June – July.

Post-2014 this is the first-ever incidence for the Indian women’s team that they will get to play two tests in one calendar year. Additionally, after 15 years Indian women’s will play against the Australian women’s team in a test match with the white ball. The last time both teams has faced each other was at the Adelaide test in 2006.

In the past, both teams have encountered nine times against each other with five tests in draws and the remaining four test won by Australia.

According to the ESPNcricinfo, final tour plans, official statement and dates will soon be declared by BCCI. While Cricket Australia is yet to announce the series, Australian pace bowler Megan Schutt has said on ‘The cricket’ podcast about the upcoming series and her next assignment would be against India.

Mostly Women cricket team didn’t get a chance to play tests often, as the cricket governing body  International Cricket Council (ICC) has been intended to expand the T20 format. For the women’s cricket majorly The Ashes’ two teams, England and Australia have been playing test cricket series continuously. On the other hand teams like Black fern and West Indies are yet to play their respective debuting test match.

The Indian team will likely to led by Mithali raj along with Jhulan Goswami in the test with the remaining young player. in recent BCCI has given a chance to experience player Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami to add more test in their dazzling career.

Mithali and Jhulan, “MilJhul” duo of blue women’s are eagerly waiting to play in Test matches with aiming to finish their test career with a victory. The interesting fact is both have played ten tests so far including the last test that has been won by the Indian team against England.

The Indian women’s team is facing England in the upcoming two months, if the proposed tour happens, then it will be great exposure for the Women in Blue ahead of the 50 over World Cup coming up next year in New Zealand.
